MicroStrategy Roadshow Dispatch #4: Architect, Integrity Manager, and Mobile Intelligence

This week I took to the road for two roadshow events – one in the middle of the United States (middle and then south towards the coast)… and one towards the east coast.

Houston, Texas Roadshow – The event was held at the St. Regis Hotel in Houston, which is an extremely plush and fancy hotel. The event was attended by a number of local MicroStrategy customers, prospects and partners (and prospective partners).

After the MicroStrategy Technology and Vision presentation (the keynote if you will) we had a large open customer discussion which focused on rapid project architecting, the new auto-configuration heuristics in MicroStrategy Architect, and Mobile Intelligence. One customer asked me to explain the technical details behind our new auto-configuration heuristics in Architect because “it’s so fast and so easy it seems as it’s magic” – customer’s quote not mine. It’s great to pass on these new capabilities in MicroStrategy 9 Release 2 to customers.

Atlanta, Georgia Roadshow – There was a big crowd in attendance for this event. Like all of the roadshows I’ve presented at, the attendees were extremely attentive and keen to hear how to best take advantage of the new features in MicroStrategy 9 Release 2. To the question “How can I best utilize the improvements in MicroStrategy 9 Release 2?”, the simple answer (and the answer is simple) is upgrade and just watch how much faster everything is about the product. Once you have your BI projects and applications running in the latest release, every person who touches MicroStrategy – from report developers, to BI analysts, to executives running dashboards, to architects and administrators – every MicroStrategy user will experience higher performance.

Upgrading MicroStrategy with Integrity Manager
Going hand in hand with the recommendation to upgrade to MicroStrategy 9 Release 2 – take advantage of the time savings and increased assurance provided by using MicroStrategy Integrity Manager. When making any change to your BI Ecosystem – such as upgrading your BI software – use MicroStrategy Integrity Manager to replace manual testing with automated report output comparison. Not only will MicroStrategy Integrity Manager save you hundreds of hours when compared to manual regression testing, it also decreases the amount of risk you open yourself up to when making any change to your BI ecosystem… test and compare every report, graph, and document before and after any change – all automatically with MicroStrategy Integrity Manager. Use it to help accelerate your upgrade to MicroStrategy 9 Release 2.

Excitement around Mobile Intelligence
In both roadshows this week, much like the roadshows from last week, there is a lot of excitement about Mobile Intelligence. When showing the capabilities of MicroStrategy Mobile on the BlackBerry Smartphone, or BI delivered to the Amazon Kindle DX, or BI on the iPhone – people attending the roadshow all seem very excited about the shift. There is no doubt that the shift towards delivering decision making in the palm of users’ hands is taking place as we speak, and MicroStrategy 9 is built to meet the challenges that Mobile Intelligence sets. More users will want more information and want it faster and delivered to them in a way that’s fantastically easy to consume. MicroStrategy is meeting that challenge with MicroStrategy 9 Release 2.

Unless I’m told otherwise… this marks the end of my MicroStrategy 9 Release 2 travels. It’s back to HQ to work on exciting future capabilities, and help organizations mine greater value out of their BI and out of their data.

Ta ta for now.
